The syntax of SOM-G --a sound synthesis language for granular synthesis-- is described. Since SOM-G is a descendant from the additive synthesis language SOM-A, it has inherited most of its concise and efficient syntatic structure, being arranged so as for allowing the definition of orchestras of granular synthesis instruments having a high degree of control over granular parameters as well as the interpretation and rendering into digital audio of polyphonic scores using these instruments.
